Just 2 km south of Safaga, South Red Sea Shipyard spans 250,000 m², naturally sheltered by Safaga Island and the Red Sea Mountains. We specialize in the construction & repair of yachts, workboats, and commercial ships. With capacity for over 100 yachts, the yard features a 25,000 m² drydock, a 600-ton slipway, and an 850-ton crane for safe and efficient operations. Facilities include hangars of over 11,000 m² capacity and one of the region’s largest fiberglass factories at 55,000 m², supported by extensive workshops and factories for carpentry, metalwork, welding, and mechanics. Equipped with CNC, laser, and plasma technology, our skilled team provides complete construction, refit, and repair services with direct access to spare parts and equipment. In 2021, SRSS partnered with the Suez Canal Authority to build 20 tugs and 10 fishing vessels, all class approved, reinforcing our position as a leader in the Egyptian and Middle Eastern maritime industry.
History
The El Dougeshy family has deep roots in Egypt’s yachting industry, dating back to Muhammad Ali Pasha’s military fleet. Alexandria workshops, established in 1910, built the Saudi Coast Guard fleet (1952), Lake Nasser’s fi shing fleet (1962), and rebuilt rocket launchers post-1973 war. In 1980, Hurghada Shipyard was founded for private and tourist yachts. To meet growing demand, the South Red Sea Shipyard was established in 1999 as a 92,000 sqm hub for yacht construction, maintenance, and innovation, Today Spanning over 250,000 square metres since establishment, specialising in construction, repair, & refit of all ongoing sea units.
